PRIMARY/ELEMENTARY CURRICULUMThe Primary Class
Our primary classes are for children ages 2 ½ through 5.
Classrooms are equipped with child-sized furniture and shelving
designed to fit the needs of all the children. Rooms also contain a full range of Montessori materials along with special additional materials to enhance children’s learning experiences and to assure kindergarten readiness. Lead teachers have Montessori teaching certification from North American Montessori Center, and all teachers and assistants are trained in Montessori methods. All classrooms meet the standard teacher- student ratio so as to ensure that each child’s specific educational, social, and emotional needs are addressed. A child is eligible to enter a primary class upon potty-training or at 2 ½ years of age. This program runs from August to May, but summer care is also available. We offer full-time as well as some limited part-time options which are as follows: 3 full days, 5 half days, or 3 half days. Hours of operation for this program are 6:45 am-6:00pm. Elementary
We currently offer grades K-8. Teachers are state certified and
hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Education. We take monthly educational field trips that parents are welcomed to attend. We also travel to the public library every other week to participate in programs and check out books of interest. Our classrooms are multi-grades, and each have certified teachers and assistants. Each grade is limited to 10 students at this time. This program follows the Webster Parish School Calendar. Meals and snacks are included in monthly tuition. Our school day is from 8:00am-2:50pm, but before and after school care is optional and an additional cost. We follow Louisiana Department of Education guidelines concerning suggested days/minutes of instruction. After-School Enrichment We offer after-school enrichment for students in grades K-8 at Lagniappe Montessori or from the following schools in Webster Parish: Phillips Elementary, Jones Elementary, Richardson Elementary, Central Elementary, Lakeside Jr./Sr. High, and Glenbrook School. We pick students up from these listed schools using 11-passenger vans and a school SUV. This program is supervised by certified teachers and includes homework help, inside and outside recreation, snacks, and arts and crafts. This program follows the Webster Parish School Calendar. Lagniappe students who participate in this program may be dropped off as early as 6:45am. Pick-up time for all after-school students is 6:00pm or earlier. Summer Care
Summer care is available for all Lagniappe students as
well as our after-school students. Tuition is the same for this program
as for our primary classes during the school year. There are limited part-time spots in this program as well, and there is a separate registration fee for summer. Program Description Full Time: Monday-Friday, 6:45 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
